Notes
|
This is an old and valuable
pipe made more valuable by the fact that it is unsmoked.
The precious gold band has a
very unusual and rarely seen pattern. The red transparent finish is typical
of the Bruyere of the 1960s and early 1970s. The shape is a blend of the
slightly bent Dublin and the Horn. It’s ideal balance and proportion is
certainly very well suited for a long and untiring smoke.
As sometimes happens, the nomenclature
of this pipe does not include the year of manufacture, as it was not stamped
at the Factory. However an expert eye may easily establish it in the late
1960s/early 1970s because of the clear Bruyere finish as well as for the
presence of the “circled” 4 to indicate the size group of allocation.
The rare and precious gold band
is a significant factor in the final price of the pipe.
No other words seem to be necessary
as the enlarged pictures are self-explanatory.
