This shape is closer to a
Hungarian shape than the classic Bent Billiard. Pure Hungarians have the
stem and the internal wall of the bowl practically parallel while in this
pipe they’re divergent. However the shape of the bowl reminds one of the
Hungarian.
The peculiarity of this very
rare shape emanates from the highest quality of the briar that has a narrow
cross grain on the stem and the two sides of the bowl and bird’s eye on
the front and the back.
Oddly, the small flaw in the
middle of the right side of the bowl visible in the second picture, is
much more evident in the picture itself than “in person” and doesn’t detract
to the beauty of this rare pipe.
It allows an untiring use and
is well suited to be smoked when hands must be kept free.
