Notwithstanding
research done using my 60 years Dunhill’s catalogues, I was not able to
find this clock. I found many other watches but none were similar to this
one. I assume that only very few examples were made.
However,
on basis of other items found on such catalogues with similar style and
materials, I assume that it was made in the late ‘50s/early ‘60s.
It’s “as
new” with no sign at all of wear and tear, it has a blue lapis insert all
around the dial, has luminous hours indexes and hands, has a 3-days Swiss
movement which works perfectly with great precision. A useful feature is
a small screw in back which permits very little adjustments to obtain a
perfect run of the clock; such a feature was usually present in clocks
made during that period.
Enthusiast
collectors of Dunhill’s paraphernalia should not overlook this item!
