Friends, I’ve never seen
a Dunhill like this before! Castello does a similar shape that is familiarly
called “chamber pot” (as distinguished from the “po”, which one never,
ever smokes!).
It was made in 1979 when
the “Collector” allocation was first introduced, however, “Collectors”,
at that time, referred only to free form in the Root finish while this
one is Bruyere. Moreover, it has a circled “4” in its nomenclature, suggesting
it was made pre-1979 - a special one-of-a-kind piece.
It has a large size, certainly
comparable to that of a generous group 5, has a comfortable saddle bit
and is in outstanding condition with no issues at all.
A picture is worth a thousand
words – surely my description does no justice to this masterpiece.
