Notes
|
|
This
pipe is familiarly called in Italy “Pescatora” (Fisherman) because this
shape was founded
suitable
for smoking during angling. The additional feature of this offer is that
the bowl has an
unusual
flat bottom that also permits pipe to stand up.
Briar
shows an appreciable and dense straight grain which is very hard to find
on a bowl with
an
egg shape.
This
is another case where enhancing words become superfluous as pictures offered
speak for
themselves
and expert collectors don’t need further suggestions.
In
addition, I must stress that this pipe is literarily “as new”, as due to
its large size I smoked
it
no more than 5 times.
The
military mount facilitates cleaning and this possibility is particularly
appreciable on a full bent pipe, as it also permits the smoker to dry the
pipe while smoking it.
